FieldAI is seeking a Robotics AI Engineer – Calibration, Localization, and Mapping to join their team in Irvine, CA. The role involves developing advanced geometric robot perception algorithms for autonomous robots.
About the Role
As a Robotics AI Engineer, you will be part of the Calibration, Localization, and Mapping (CLAM) team, responsible for designing and implementing state-of-the-art algorithms for autonomous quadrupeds and humanoids. You will develop tools to validate subsystem performance, write maintainable code in C++ and Python, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into real-world systems.
About You
Required:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with expertise in calibration, localization, and/or 3D mapping.
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, probability theory, numerical optimization, 3D geometry, Lie theory, and 3D kinematics.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python with the ability to write maintainable and efficient code.
- Experience with sensor calibration and time synchronization.
Preferred:
- Publications and/or patents in calibration, state estimation, odometry, and/or SLAM.
- Experience with noisy sensor measurements and designing outlier-resilient algorithms.
- Experience with computationally constrained platforms and designing efficient, real-time algorithms.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art LiDAR-inertial and visual-inertial odometry and SLAM algorithms.
