About the Role
As a SPED Instructional Assistant, you will assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students in various classroom settings. Your responsibilities will include adapting classroom activities, administering tests, assisting medically fragile students, communicating with staff and parents, implementing behavioral plans, and ensuring a safe learning environment. You will also perform clerical functions and provide instruction in individual and group activities.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of one of the following: 60 postsecondary hours of college coursework, an AA degree, or passing the ParaPro Assessment.
Preferred:
- Experience working with special needs students.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
