About the Role
As a Middle School Humanities ICT Specialist, you will serve as the special education teacher in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom, ensuring the delivery of the ICT mandate as per students' IEPs. You will collaboratively plan with general education teachers, co-teach using various models, and monitor student progress towards academic IEP goals. Your responsibilities will also include managing IEP documentation, implementing behavior supports, and participating in professional development and community events.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution, preferably in the Liberal Arts, Philosophy, or Classics-related field.
- Active New York State teaching certification in Students with Disabilities or currently enrolled in an NYSED-approved program leading to special education certification.
Preferred:
- Relevant urban, middle school teaching experience with demonstrated student results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using SESIS to manage IEP documentation.
- Spanish language proficiency.
