Summary
Somerville Public Schools is seeking a Full-Time Lead Teacher for the 25-26 Afterschool Program for Pre-K/K at Capuano in Somerville, MA. The role involves providing high-quality after school and out of school time care for children in grades Pre-K through 8.
About the Role
As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for leading small and large group activities, supervising and interacting with children, maintaining a safe classroom environment, and implementing daily curriculum to promote children's development. You will also be involved in staff supervision, including orienting new staff and participating in team meetings, as well as fulfilling responsibilities during summer months.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field with six months of experience working with school-age children.
- Associate’s degree with three months of experience working with school-age children in a supervised childcare setting.
Preferred:
- Experience with project-based curriculum.
- Ability to work with students with special educational or emotional needs.
- Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Benefits
- Salary range of $22.66–$26.70 per hour based on education.
