Summary
Somerville Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal for High School (Elm Community) to join their team in Somerville, MA. The role involves instructional leadership, administration, discipline, and coordination within the school.
About the Role
As an Assistant Principal, you will assist the Principal in the organization, supervision, and administration of the school. Your responsibilities will include supervising the instructional program, improving curriculum, preparing the master schedule, counseling teachers, and managing student discipline. You will also represent the school in community functions and hold parental conferences as required.
About You
Required:- A master's degree from a college or university approved by the School Committee.
- A minimum of five (5) years successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
- Massachusetts Principal/Assistant Principal Certification covering grades 9-12.
Preferred:- Experience in teaching or related experience in public education.
- Experience supporting students from immigrant and refugee backgrounds.
- Experience teaching or related experience supporting individuals with Special Needs.
Benefits
- Salary in accordance with Level 2 of the Somerville Administrator’s Association collective bargaining agreement.
- Work year is 205 days.
