About the Role
As a 911 Dispatcher/Trainee, you will be responsible for receiving and answering emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. You will operate complex communication equipment, evaluate and prioritize calls based on urgency, and apply detailed procedures and policies. The position requires maintaining proficiency in required certifications and performing all related duties as assigned.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to obtain a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic (or higher) Telecommunicator Certification within one (1) year of employment.
- One (1) year of related customer service experience.
Preferred:
- One (1) year of related experience with extensive public contact or customer service involving the operation of a multi-line phone system or radio communication system.
Benefits
- Starting Salary: $22.36/hr with potential to promote to 911 Dispatcher upon receipt of TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator Certification and one year related experience.
- Subject to random drug tests, including pre-employment.
