Summary
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their Finance Department in Nashville, TN. The role involves processing incoming mail, preparing deposits, and maintaining financial records to support the Finance team.
About the Role
As an Accounting Clerk, you will report to the Controller and be responsible for recording cash flow transactions, preparing deposits, maintaining logs for Raiser’s Edge entries, vouchering food purchases, and supporting the Accounts Payable Specialist. You will also assist in onboarding vendors to ACH payments and cover reception duties as needed.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2+ years of related experience in a clerical role within an accounting environment.
- Strong organizational skills including filing, sorting, and batching of data.
- Strong knowledge of A/R processes including billing, coding, data input, balancing, and collections functions.
- Proficient in Windows-based software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred:
- Post-secondary courses in Accounting/Bookkeeping.
- Experience with automated accounting systems.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and technical proficiency.
