Lightspark is seeking an Accounting Lead to join their team in Culver City, CA. The role involves leading the Accounting team, establishing financial infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
About the Role
As the Accounting Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the monthly financial statement close process, preparing technical accounting memos, managing the payroll team, and implementing key accounting policies. You will also own the external audit process, prepare financial reporting for senior management, and collaborate with various stakeholders to integrate accounting considerations into business decisions.
About You
Required:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and corporate accounting/controllership.
- Strong technical accounting foundation, particularly in revenue recognition (ASC 606).
- Experience with crypto asset accounting.
Preferred:
- Proven experience leading and managing external partners in accounting, audit, and financial operations.
- Strong experience with ERP systems and accounting automation tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
