The Office of Addiction Services and Supports is seeking an Addictions Counselor 2 to join their team in Brooklyn, NY. The role involves serving as a senior member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, performing assessment, treatment planning, case management, and clinical services with a high degree of independence.
About the Role
As an Addictions Counselor 2, you will function as a primary counselor managing all facets of clinical services to a patient caseload. Responsibilities include providing individual and group therapy, conducting psycho-educational groups, intervening in crises, completing assessments, and ensuring compliance with treatment goals. You will also document patient care efficiently and provide consultation to less senior staff.
About You
Required:
Current registration as a CASAC-Advanced Counselor or CASAC-Master Counselor in New York State.
One year of post-registration addictions counseling experience in a certified or licensed program.
Preferred:
Experience working with challenging patients in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Proficiency in using computers for patient documentation and communication.
