Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Adjunct Pool for Health Sciences to join their team at North Central College in Naperville, IL. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses in the Nutrition Program during the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years.
About the Role
As an Adjunct Pool for Health Sciences, you will be responsible for delivering course content, creating assignments and assessments, evaluating and grading student work, and holding office hours to assist students. This position is on a course-by-course basis, with appointments that are renewable each semester, contingent upon unit needs and enrollment.
About You
Required:
- Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a concentration in the discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline.
- Ability to teach in areas such as Introductory nutrition concepts, Nutrition and metabolism, Food systems and sustainability, Community nutrition, Clinical nutrition and nutrition counseling, and Food service management and leadership.
Preferred:
- Prior higher education teaching experience.
- Experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions.
- Evidence of working with a diverse student population.
- Evidence of effective collaboration skills.
- Experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. Canvas).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
