Summary
Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic for Customs & Border Protection to join their team in Laredo, TX. The role involves performing maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, and servicing functions on assigned aircraft.
About the Role
As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications of aircraft in compliance with regulations and technical manuals. You will perform daily inspections, troubleshoot aircraft systems, and may be required to fly on government aircraft for in-flight checks. Additionally, you will need to furnish your own hand tools and may be assigned other duties to support the mission.
About You
Required:
- Valid State driver's license.
- Ability to pass random drug tests.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance (US Citizenship required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
- Knowledge in repair and maintenance of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and systems.
- Competence in system troubleshooting and reading technical manuals.
- Reliability and good judgment.
- Ability to follow procedures for hazardous waste disposal.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain workflow.
- Proficiency in English for communication and instruction comprehension.
Preferred:
- At least two years of experience working with rotary-wing aircraft.
- Experience with UH-60 Blackhawk highly desired.
