PRINCETON BAPTIST MEDICAL CENTER is seeking a full-time Ambulatory Nurse Triage (RN) to join their remote care team, providing telephone triage and patient care coordination for the Jewett Orthopedics Institute.
About the Role
The Ambulatory Nurse Triage (RN) handles high-volume patient and healthcare agency calls to assess acute concerns, medication questions, and post-visit issues. Responsibilities include triaging urgent and non-emergent calls using nursing processes and Schmitt-Thompson protocols, coordinating with providers, educating patients over the phone, documenting calls per policy, scheduling appointments as needed, refilling prescriptions, and maintaining patient records. The role requires working from home after an initial onsite orientation, using technology systems like Epic and Microsoft Office, and adhering to attendance and compliance standards.
About You
Required:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the State of Florida.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of 3 years RN experience, particularly in triaging acute pain, wound care, infection, DVT rule-out, and pre/post-surgery symptom management.
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and provide guidance over the phone using nursing processes.
- Proficiency in documentation and use of electronic health record systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
- Proficiency with Epic charting system.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in a call center or remote nursing environment.
- Ability to manage stressful situations calmly with excellent customer service skills.
