BioSpace is seeking an Analytical Chemist II to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves performing advanced chemical analyses with a focus on HPLC, assay, potency, and impurity testing in a high-volume laboratory environment.
About the Role
As an Analytical Chemist II, you will lead complex testing, provide technical guidance to junior staff, and ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity. Your responsibilities will include performing routine and moderately complex chemical analyses, leading sample tracking and result reporting, troubleshooting unexpected test results, conducting instrument maintenance, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. You will also train and mentor junior staff and support internal audits and special projects.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a regulated analytical laboratory (cGMP, cGLP, ISO 17025, USP, A2LA).
Advanced proficiency with HPLC, UV-Vis, and other analytical instrumentation.
Strong understanding of instrumental analysis procedures used in modern chemistry laboratories.
Proven ability to troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation independently.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Experience with sample preparative chemistry and wet chemistry analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
