About the Role
As an Animal Care Technician I, you will be responsible for performing general husbandry tasks such as providing clean caging, fresh food and water to research animals, sanitizing animal holding facilities, monitoring environmental conditions, and observing animals for signs of abnormal health. You will also be involved in record-keeping and documentation of animal care in accordance with SOPs and Animal Use Protocols.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must achieve AALAS Assistant Laboratory Technician (ALAT) Certification within one year.
- Reliable, skilled, and compassionate animal handling and care.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Computer experience; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a fixed schedule and weekend availability.
Preferred:
- Experience in small mammal care, feeding, and bedding.
- Active DOD Secret clearance.
- Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification.
