About the Role
As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will assist the teacher in working with students to meet their educational needs, provide physical and medically related support, and perform various tasks as directed. Your responsibilities will include reinforcing learning, assisting with assessments, managing behavior, and supporting students during activities.
About You
Required:
- Two years of education at an institution of higher learning or an Associate Degree (or higher) or equivalent knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Possess or be able to secure a valid Ohio Education Aide permit.
- Willingness to attend a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of job-related in-service training each school year.
- Knowledge and understanding of special needs conditions of students.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance.
Preferred:
- Experience in a position requiring independent judgment and discretion.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
- Skills or willingness to learn necessary skills for meeting the physical needs of students.
