Summary
Mansfield City School District is seeking an Anticipated Special Education Paraprofessional to join their team at Malabar Intermediate School for the 2025-2026 school year. About the Role
As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will assist the teacher in working with students, reinforcing basic learning, observing learning difficulties, and supporting students with special needs. Your responsibilities will include helping with classroom preparations, behavior management, and assisting students during various activities, including lunch and recess.
About You
Required:
- Two years of education at an institution of higher learning or an Associate Degree (or higher) or equivalent knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Possess or be able to secure a valid Ohio Education Aide permit.
- Willingness to attend a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of job-related in-service training each school year.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance.
Preferred:
- Knowledge and understanding of special needs conditions of students.
- Demonstrated experience in a position requiring independent judgment and discretion.
- Experience in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn skills necessary to meet the physical needs of students.
