About the Role
As a Graduate Legal Assistant in the Appeals, Writs, and Trials section, you will represent the People’s interests in non-death penalty appeals, handle death penalty appeals and writs, and assist in state and federal habeas corpus proceedings. You will also conduct legal research, prepare briefs and memoranda, and may gain courtroom experience while assisting in special investigations.
About You
Required:
- Recent law school graduate eligible to take the state bar exam.
- Demonstrated interest in legal research and writing.
Preferred:
- Experience in legal document preparation.
- Familiarity with criminal law and appellate procedures.
