About the Role
As an Environmental Compliance Monitor, you will work with construction crews and project managers to document compliance levels related to environmental permits. Your responsibilities will include completing construction surveys, overseeing environmental exclusion fencing, and managing personal workload while adhering to safety protocols. This position requires flexibility as the workload is variable.
About You
Required:
- Minimum of a BA/BS degree in environmental science, environmental studies, biology or related field OR at least 3 years of field experience in construction compliance monitoring.
- Ability to complete construction surveys and focused resource surveys.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of environmental regulations.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with an interest to learn and grow as a project team.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with active personal automobile liability insurance.
Preferred:
- Permits from California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) for Crotch’s bumble bee or foothill yellow-legged frog.
- Species survey or monitoring experience with various special-status wildlife.
- Experience with GPS/GIS mobile applications.
- Previous approvals from CDFW and/or USFWS as a project approved biological monitor.
- Certifications in sediment and erosion control, dust monitoring, and noise monitoring.
