Summary
Fort Valley State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Veterinary Science for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track position located in Fort Valley, GA.
About the Role
As an Assistant/Associate Professor of Veterinary Science, you will deliver didactic and clinical instruction in radiology, laboratory and biomedical procedures, and large and small animal diseases. You will provide veterinary care for in-house and research animals, contribute to community engagement activities, participate in student recruitment, and engage in research initiatives aligned with departmental goals.
About You
Required:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Eligible for licensure to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Georgia.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in veterinary practice, preferably in large animal practice.
- Proficient in the use of veterinary hospital software systems.
Preferred:
- Prior clinical teaching experience in veterinary medicine.
- Advanced post-DVM degree (e.g., MS, PhD, or board certification).
- Demonstrated potential for research and success in securing external funding.
- International teaching experience in the veterinary field, particularly within Colleges of Veterinary Medicine.
