City of Odessa, Texas is seeking an Assistant Director of Utilities to manage the personnel, facilities, and equipment for the operation and maintenance of the City's water and wastewater treatment plants and Field Services operations.
About the Role
As the Assistant Director of Utilities, you will oversee the management of water and wastewater treatment plants, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, monitor operations and budgets, and develop policies and procedures. You will coordinate staffing and maintenance procedures, manage staff performance, and handle customer service issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for the collection and reporting of operational data and the development of operational budgets.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
Five years' experience in water utilities management and project management in the public sector.
Valid Texas State Driver's License.
Preferred:
Class B Water and Wastewater III licenses from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within 1 year of employment.
Class A licenses.
Registration as a Professional Engineer by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
