About the Role
As the Assistant Director, Student Accounts, you will assist with the administration of student accounts, including refund processing, student billing, and compliance with Title IV regulations. You will coordinate training for new staff, communicate departmental policies, and handle customer inquiries. The role requires collaboration with various college departments and maintaining student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of experience with Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Student Services, or Administration in a higher education environment.
- Experience working directly with customers, clients, or students.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with attention to accuracy, details, and deadlines.
- Ability to establish relationships and work tactfully and effectively with diverse populations.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage time.
- Knowledge of current software applications.
- Ability to interpret policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Experience with educational or financial databases similar to Banner.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and manage an assigned project from start to finish.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Title IV regulations and requirements related to Student Accounts.
- Direct experience using Banner software.
- Community College experience within the state of New York.
- Accounting and Bookkeeping experience at a career school/College.
