Texas A&M University - San Antonio is seeking an Assistant Professor in History-Medieval Europe or Early Modern Europe for a full-time, tenure-track appointment starting in Fall 2026.
About the Role
The Assistant Professor will direct student research projects, teach world civilizations and upper-level undergraduate history courses, and work with pre-service teaching candidates in preparation for teaching certification exams. The position requires excellence in instruction, research, and service, with a base teaching load of 3/3. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.
About You
Required:
- Ph.D. in history or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
- A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in history.
- University teaching experience commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor.
- Demonstrated specialization in Medieval Europe or Early Modern European history.
- Evidence of scholarly achievement in the field.
Preferred:
- Experience in directing student research projects.
- Commitment to working with diverse student populations.
