Summary
Gervino Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support complex public works and utility projects across Southern California. The role is ideal for professionals with experience in underground utilities, particularly in wet utilities, trenching, and underground piping.
About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support and coordinate field operations in partnership with Project Superintendents and Engineers. Your responsibilities will include tracking project schedules, scopes, and costs, communicating with clients and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards, leading project documentation, and mentoring junior staff. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of field experience in heavy civil or underground construction.
- Hands-on experience with underground piping, trenching, and wet utility installation in California.
- Familiarity with public works processes, agency coordination, and Cal/OSHA trench safety standards.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to navigate active construction job sites and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- OSHA 30 (Cal/OSHA) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
