Summary
Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Assistant University Librarian Special Collections to join their team in Greenville, NC. The role involves the development and management of ECU Libraries Special Collections and related services.
About the Role
As the Assistant University Librarian for Special Collections, you will lead a division responsible for various collections including Digital Curation, Health Sciences History Collections, and Rare Books. You will manage a team, set strategic priorities, promote services, and collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance library offerings and secure funding.
About You
Required:
- ALA-accredited master’s degree or international equivalent.
- At least 5 years’ work experience in academic and/or health sciences libraries.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of key issues and trends in special collections and archives within academic research libraries.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor library faculty, staff, and/or student employees and interns.
- Experience in building and providing access to primary source collections, including born-digital materials.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with faculty, students, and other researchers.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and cultivating donors.
