Summary
National MS Society is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Development Operations to support and optimize fundraising operations through CRM management, staff training, and process improvements, enabling effective donor engagement and fundraising success.
About the Role
The Assistant Vice President for Development Operations oversees the CRM platform (Salesforce) administration and optimization, ensures data integrity and alignment with fundraising strategies, leads technical training and onboarding for development staff, implements process improvements for operational efficiency and compliance, manages donor acknowledgment processes, creates documentation and training resources, influences data policies and compliance, collaborates with internal stakeholders to align systems, provides CRM reporting and troubleshooting support, identifies knowledge gaps and delivers tailored training, tracks system usage and performance metrics, and leads change management efforts to foster operational excellence.
About You
Required:
- 6+ years of progressive experience in development operations, nonprofit administration, or advancement services with a technical or systems focus supporting fundraising teams
- Advanced proficiency in data management best practices including data hygiene, reporting, and query development
- Deep expertise in CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, including system administration, customization, reporting, and user support
- Proven ability to design and deliver technical training programs and onboarding for staff at all levels
- Strong background in developing and implementing operational processes supporting data integrity, efficiency, and compliance
- Experience managing donor acknowledgment processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness in high-volume gift processing
- Solid understanding of fundraising compliance standards, data privacy regulations, and donor database best practices
- Exceptional project management skills with ability to oversee cross-departmental initiatives and deliver outcomes on time and within scope
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate complex systems and data into clear guidance
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse stakeholders in remote and hybrid environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting
