WSP in the U.S. is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Transportation Planning to join their team in Southern California, based in Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, Oakland, or San Francisco. This strategic role focuses on expanding the transportation planning practice and collaborating with key public agencies.
About the Role
As the Assistant Vice President, Transportation Planning, you will manage local client coordination, support cross-selling efforts, and attend civic and industry events. You will foster a collaborative work environment, optimize client and employee experiences, and leverage technical expertise to enhance service offerings. Your role will also involve developing business strategies, resolving conflicts, and promoting the professional development of staff.
About You
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Public Policy, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a focus on infrastructure projects.
- Experience with professional environmental services as a consultant or client, developing scopes of work, directing work, issuing or responding to RFP or RFQs.
- Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistence, and growth.
- Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement.
- Strong business acumen.
- Sound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities.
- Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local area, including ability to lead pursuits and proposals.
- Commitment to internal and external client service.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.
