About the Role
As the Associate Director of AileyCamp, you will work closely with the AileyCamp Director to manage and supervise the implementation of a six-week dance-based camp. Your responsibilities will include overseeing instructional staff, ensuring safety and developmentally appropriate instruction, coordinating camp logistics, and facilitating communication with families and staff. You will also design the daily schedule and monitor class content to align with AileyCamp and Cal Performances goals.
About You
Required:
- Experience teaching middle school-aged children (11-14) using a youth development framework.
- Knowledge of youth safety practices and trauma-informed instruction; trained as a mandated reporter.
- Experience supervising classroom instructors and adult leaders.
- Significant experience working with urban children and families.
- Administrative experience in a performing arts-based educational setting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Red Cross CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
Preferred:
- Former AileyCamp faculty or staff member.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
