About the Role
As an Associate Investigator, you will be responsible for analyzing and intaking FOIL requests, utilizing NYPD systems to process requests, examining records for appropriateness of disclosure, applying redactions as per legal requirements, and reporting search results to supervisors.
About You
Required:
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, full-time experience as an investigator.
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory, full-time experience.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and Department systems.
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a significant caseload.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks.
