AbbVie is seeking an Associate Scientist II, Transcriptional Profiling to join their Advanced Cell Technologies, Screening, and Sequencing (ACTS) group in Cambridge, MA. The role involves performing molecular biological research focused on target identification and validation for neurodegenerative diseases and neuropsychiatric disorders.
About the Role
As an Associate Scientist II, you will support advanced molecular biology techniques including gene expression analysis and next-generation sequencing. You will collaborate with colleagues, analyze and summarize data, communicate project statuses, operate laboratory equipment, and develop scientific proficiency necessary for project completion.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, or related field with typically 3 or more years of experience, or a Master's Degree (no additional experience required).
Strong skillset in molecular biology techniques (RNA/DNA isolation and QC).
Experience with medium-throughput screening (qPCR and ddPCR).
Experience with next-generation sequencing (bulk RNA-seq and sc/snRNA-seq).
Ability to independently execute and analyze experiments and troubleshoot technical challenges.
Preferred:
Experience with automated laboratory systems (KingFisher Flex and Biomek i7 workstation).
Experience in working in multidisciplinary teams and in external collaboration.
