Summary
MAAC is seeking an Associate Teacher to join their team at the Gosnell Center in San Marcos, CA. The role involves assisting in planning, supervising, and implementing the education program for low-income and special needs children.
About the Role
As an Associate Teacher, you will work under the guidance of the Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, design and implement lesson plans, and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment. You will also develop relationships with parents and assist in the interpretation of Head Start policies. Your responsibilities will include recording children's behavior, maintaining classroom cleanliness, and providing personalized services to special needs children.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Twelve (12) units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development from an accredited institution.
- California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or CDA credential.
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- One (1) year of Head Start experience with children in a classroom setting.
- One (1) year of preschool experience with children in a classroom setting.
