About the Role
As an Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will assign, supervise, and lead culinary staff in preparing meals for dining rooms, neighborhoods, special events, and catering services. You will work closely with the Dining Arts Kitchen Manager to maintain product quality, supervise staff activities, and ensure high standards of food quality and presentation. Responsibilities include managing inventory, creating cleaning schedules, and training staff in hygiene practices.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two-year culinary degree or equivalent experience in a commercial foodservice operation.
- 3 years of hands-on production experience in a commercial foodservice kitchen.
- 3 years of upscale restaurant cooking and catering experience.
- ServSafe certified or able to obtain within six months of employment.
Preferred:
- Experience in providing leadership in a positive manner.
- Ability to read, write, scale, cost, and estimate recipes.
- Office computer skills including Word and Excel.
