About the Role
The Behavioral Health Patient Care Associate provides direct physical care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living such as nutrition, hygiene, hydration, elimination, mobility, and comfort. Responsibilities include performing vital signs, weights, intake/output measurements, and documenting patient information in EPIC. The associate reports changes in patients' physical and mental conditions, participates in evaluating patient needs and carrying out treatment and behavioral plans, maintains a safe and clean environment, responds to patient call lights, cares for medical equipment, participates in milieu groups and activities, provides one-to-one patient observation, transports discharged patients, monitors patient whereabouts with 15-minute checks as assigned, and performs phlebotomy, EKGs, and glucometry as requested by nursing staff. All activities are performed in accordance with established unit, hospital, and nursing policies.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills to evaluate patients' physical and emotional needs.
- Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills to accurately transfer clinical information.
- Ability to maintain annual competencies and up-to-date BLS certification.
- Ability to walk and stand for up to 90% of work time, push and pull heavy objects including patients, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks and accurate keyboarding skills.
Preferred:
- Related experience in a health care setting or pursuing a degree in a related field.
