About the Role
As a Behavioral Health Specialist I, you will be responsible for engaging with mental/behavioral health patients both individually and in group settings. Your duties will include creating and facilitating therapeutic group-based activities, managing patient interactions, and documenting individual patient behavior. You will work in a multidisciplinary team within a pediatric inpatient psychiatry unit and a psychiatric Day Hospital for voluntary patients aged 5-17.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in an allied health discipline including Psychology, Social Work, Education, Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, or childhood development.
- At least 6 months of experience in a mental health care setting.
Preferred:
- Experience working with the pediatric population.
- BLS CPR certification from AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
