About the Role
The Behavioral Health Specialist conducts psychiatric evaluations, provides behavioral health consults, assessments, individual and family treatment, care coordination, and referrals. They participate in multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and plan behavioral health care services throughout the episode of illness. Responsibilities include building caring relationships, consulting with Emergency Department providers, triaging and assessing patients, developing strength-based treatment plans, coordinating discharge plans or admissions, and supporting the team through problem solving and communication.
About You
Required:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling.
- CT Licensure at LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT level.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience working with at-risk populations.
- Understanding of consult-liaison, crisis intervention, and integrated care models.
- Analytical ability to design comprehensive treatment plans and knowledge of professional literature and resources.
- Proficiency in computer typing and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals.
