Summary
St. Cloud Area School District 742 is seeking a Bilingual Communications Support Specialist (Somali) for a temporary position from September 25, 2025, to January 1, 2026, in St Cloud, MN.
About the Role
As a Bilingual Communications Support Specialist, you will assist administrators, staff, students, and families in overcoming language and cultural barriers to enhance student achievement and school success. Your responsibilities will include providing interpreting and translation services at various school events, facilitating communication between families and school personnel, and supporting students' academic performance and social/emotional development.
About You
Required:
- A.A. Degree or equivalent education or qualifying experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel in a diverse environment.
- Fluency in English and Somali, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a closely related field.
- Experience in a K-12 school setting and familiarity with best practices in youth development, cultural competency, and special education.
