About the Role
As a Registered Dietitian/Nutrition Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing the Head Start Supplemental Nutrition and Healthy Eating initiative. Your key responsibilities include conducting professional development for staff, facilitating nutrition workshops for families, providing individual consultations, and documenting training sessions and outcomes for federal reporting. This role is critical in advancing the mission of ensuring children and families thrive through access to healthy food and nutrition education.
About You
Required:
- Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in early childhood nutrition, food service training, or public health education.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong understanding of Head Start Performance Standards and best practices in family nutrition and child wellness.
- Experience leading workshops and developing resource materials.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with curricula such as IMIL and SPARK.
- Open to learning about and implementing Children's Aid Go!Kids curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and equity-centered approach.
Benefits
- Consultant rate up to $60-$65 per hour for 25 hours per week for the 12-month project period.
