Jobot is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their dynamic public accounting firm in Gaithersburg, MD. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records and providing bookkeeping services for multiple clients.
About the Role
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for small business and individual clients, performing monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, recording and categorizing financial transactions, preparing client payroll, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. You will also manage accounts payable and receivable, collaborate with CPAs for year-end reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
About You
Required:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting or CPA firm environment.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Bill.com, and other cloud-based platforms.
