About the Role
As a police officer in the Brookline Police Department, you will be responsible for maintaining public safety, engaging with the community, and responding to incidents. You will work within various divisions and specialty units, including Detectives, Traffic, K9 Unit, and more. The department emphasizes community-oriented policing and requires officers to have completed a full-time MPTC approved police academy and be POST certified.
About You
Required:
Completion of a full-time MPTC approved police academy.
POST certification.
Minimum of one year of experience as a full-time police officer.
Preferred:
Experience in community policing.
Proven problem-solving skills.

Salary range for patrol officers is currently $81k - $130k (education dependent).
Quinn equivalent educational incentive eligible for various qualifying degrees (10%-25%).

48+ hours of contractual In-service training paid on an overtime basis.
Detail rate – Day Rate - $75 per hour. Night/ Weekend/ Holiday Rate - $112.50.
Vacation Time: 14 - 28 days per year.
Administrative Days: 4 - 9 per year.
Sick Time – 14 days per year.
