New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a CARA Navigator to join their team in Santa Fe, NM. The role involves supporting families whose child has been born substance exposed by identifying support systems and breaking down barriers to access services.
About the Role
As a CARA Navigator, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the CARA state law, completing comprehensive family assessments, and building relationships with families and state agencies. Your daily tasks will include reviewing plans of care, conducting home visits, and providing outreach and technical assistance to providers. You will also manage and participate in CARA workgroups and assist in training providers on CARA law.
About You
Required:
Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Family Studies/Services, Social Sciences, or Human Services.
One (1) year of experience as a social work assistant or in social/community coordination.
Preferred:
Knowledge of the impact of substance use on individual and family functioning.
Experience working with individuals who have experienced substance abuse.
