About the Role
As an APP in the Cardiac Thoracic Surgery program, you will function independently in the inpatient hospital and operating room settings, providing first assistance in cardiothoracic surgeries, including open thoracic cases and robotic lung surgery. You will coordinate comprehensive patient care, perform assessments, and maintain clinical competency while working with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires participation in education and training of APP students and may involve weekends, holidays, and call on a rotating schedule.
About You
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
- Current licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North and South Carolina.
- More than 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery, including proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting.
- BLS and ACLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice for Nurse Practitioners.
- Certification from a nationally recognized certifying body for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity work environment.
