Summary
SIMCO, LLC is seeking a Central Characterization Program (CCP) Mobile Loading Operator to join their team located at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The role involves ensuring compliant packaging operations and payload assembly related to the shipment of Transuranic (TRU) Mixed Waste.
About the Role
As a Central Characterization Program (CCP) Mobile Loading Operator, you will be responsible for completing necessary training for Contact Handling, interfacing with working groups, ensuring compliant packaging operations, and mentoring team members. This position may require heavy domestic travel and follows a standard work schedule of Monday through Thursday, 10-hour days.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree with six (6) years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma with ten (10) years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational safety, conduct of operations, and quality assurance programs.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a 'Q' Clearance.
- Previous experience with nuclear and/or hazardous waste/materials.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred:
- Basic skill in researching and recommending alternative solutions to problems associated with TRU Waste management.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of CCP TRU Waste Certification activities and equipment.
- Previous experience with Nondestructive Examination techniques.
