Summary
AdventHealth is seeking a Certified Lactation Consultant RN PRN to join their team in Orlando, Florida. The role involves providing lactation support and education to mothers and families in various healthcare settings.
About the Role
As a Certified Lactation Consultant RN PRN, you will participate in community education regarding breastfeeding, provide private consultations, facilitate mother/baby luncheons, and present prenatal breastfeeding classes. You will also keep supplies organized, report needs to supervisors, and stay updated on the latest research to share with colleagues.
About You
Required:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support - CPR Certification (BLS).
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification.
- Effective communication skills.
- Triage care based on patient needs.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use Interpreter service appropriately.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's of Nursing.
- 1+ years of experience in an acute care hospital.
- 2+ years of maternity or newborn experience.
- Skill in teaching adults and adolescents.
- Experience in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for breastfeeding mothers and babies.
- Current research information regarding breastfeeding.
- Knowledge in maternity nursing and newborn nursing.
- Additional languages, especially Spanish.
