About the Role
As a Certified Phlebotomy Technician/EKG Technician, you will be responsible for specimen collection, conducting venipuncture and capillary blood collection, ensuring patient identification and specimen handling, and performing EKGs as needed. You will also maintain compliance with VA policies and communicate effectively with laboratory personnel to ensure timely processing of specimens.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (California CPT I or CPT II required).
- Completion of an approved phlebotomy training program.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience within the last 3 years.
Preferred:
- 2-3 years of experience in an acute care or inpatient setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collections, difficult draws, and pediatric collections.
- Prior experience performing EKGs in a clinical setting (formal EKG certification preferred but not required).
