Cumberland County Guidance Center is seeking a Certified Screener for their Crisis Screening Center in Bridgeton, NJ. The role involves providing emergency screenings, evaluations, and crisis interventions to individuals in need.
About the Role
As a Certified Screener, you will be responsible for conducting face-to-face emergency screenings and evaluations, providing crisis interventions, and stabilizing clients in mental health crises. You will engage with individuals using Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and document all interactions. The position requires working overnight hours from Sunday to Thursday.
About You
Required:
Master's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution, plus one-year experience in a psychiatric setting, OR
Bachelor's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution, plus three years of experience in mental health, one of which is in a crisis or acute care setting.
Completion of NJDMHS Crisis Training Certification, or eligibility to take this examination.
Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean five-year driving record.
Preferred:
Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions in a crisis setting.
Bilingual candidates, especially those fluent in Spanish, are encouraged to apply.
