About the Role
As a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist, you will observe, analyze, and record patients' participation and progress during treatment sessions, develop treatment plans, encourage patients to acquire new skills, conduct therapy sessions, and confer with the treatment team to evaluate therapy programs. You will also instruct patients in various activities and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
About You
Required:
- Graduate of a baccalaureate degree program with a specialization in therapeutic recreation, including the completion of a supervised internship.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle with Care (HWC) certification required, to be obtained during orientation.
Preferred:
- Additional experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Demonstrated competence to practice as a therapeutic recreation specialist and/or recreation therapist.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
