About the Role
As a Charge Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for directing patient flow, mentoring staff, ensuring compliance with departmental policies, and providing oversight for quality care. You will evaluate respiratory practices, assist in problem-solving, and coordinate workflow for respiratory services. Additionally, you will maintain effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals, and participate in staff scheduling and evaluations.
About You
Required:
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of respiratory experience with neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients or previous supervisory experience.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential through the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current Basic Life Support card.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certifications.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy.
- Successful completion of Charge nurse training program within 3 months of promotion to charge RT.
- Successful completion of preceptor training program within 3 months of promotion to charge RT.
