About the Role
As a Chemical Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for commissioning and operating a laboratory scale fluidized bed dryer, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), designing and executing experimental drying campaigns, generating heat and material balances (HMBs), and summarizing findings and recommendations to R&D Process and Engineering leadership. This internship provides meaningful exposure to industrial process modeling, applied heat and mass transfer analysis, and the development of scalable operating procedures.
About You
Required:
- 3+ years of study in Chemical Engineering by the start of the internship.
- Candidates must be actively enrolled in an engineering degree program at the start of the internship and have at least one academic term remaining following the internship period.
- 1+ years of experience in a chemical lab setting.
- Eagerness to learn.
- Willingness to work in a team.
- A 'can-do' attitude.
Preferred:
- Completion of core chemical engineering coursework, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, transport phenomena, or unit operations.
- Experience preparing and handling inorganic salt solutions.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques including XRD, PSA, SEM, BET, pH measurement, and titration.
