About the Role
As a Child Life Specialist, you will assess the developmental needs of infants to young adults, provide resources to promote positive coping skills, and establish therapeutic relationships. You will utilize best practice methods to prepare pediatric patients for healthcare experiences, provide emotional support, and assist in de-escalation interventions. The position requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to enhance care techniques and support education.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Education, Recreation Therapy, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Entry-level professional competency in child life related skills.
- Ability to learn and advance clinical skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Preferred:
- Child Life Specialist Certification (CCLS) within one year of start date.
- Successful completion of a 600-hour child life internship.
