Summary
Project HOPE Namibia (PHN) is seeking a Child Protection Officer- MHPSS to join their team in Gaza. The role involves leading and supporting the implementation of child protection activities to ensure the safety, dignity, and rights of children affected by conflict.
About the Role
As a Child Protection Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring child protection activities in line with international standards. Your daily tasks will include case management, providing psychosocial support, facilitating child consultations, and coordinating with local authorities and NGOs. You will also train community-based child protection committees and ensure child safeguarding principles are integrated into all activities.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, Child Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in child protection in humanitarian settings.
- Strong understanding of child protection principles, case management, and psychosocial support.
- Fluency in Arabic; English proficiency is an advantage.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in psychology, Mental Health, Community Mental Health, or high diploma of Community Mental Health.
- Experience working with vulnerable children and families in conflict-affected areas.
- Familiarity with inter-agency child protection standards and tools (e.g., CPMS, CPIMS+).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

In partnership with local organizations and in close coordination with the Ministry of Health and Social Services and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, we implement programs funded by PEPFAR/USAID and UNICEF to help at-risk populations across the country access treatment, education, counselling, and opportunities to improve their income.
