Summary
State of New Hampshire is seeking a Child Support Officer to join the Bureau of Child Support Services at the Conway District Office. The role involves establishing and enforcing court and administrative orders for child support in accordance with relevant laws and policies.
About the Role
The Child Support Officer reviews and assesses cases to determine strategies for enforcement and establishment of support orders, negotiates with parents and attorneys on sensitive matters, recommends actions to judges and hearing officers, represents the Bureau in hearings, implements various enforcement techniques such as wage withholding and tax offsets, investigates and verifies evidence related to support obligations, advises stakeholders on laws and policies, and may supervise subordinate staff or the Child Support Unit in the absence of the Unit Supervisor.
About You
Required:
- Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after high school.
- At least 2 years of experience in support enforcement, investigations, collections, financial assessment, business, accounting, law enforcement, direct service delivery, paralegal, human or social services, social sciences, or related field.
- Valid driver's license or access to transportation.
- Willingness to travel to other District Offices as needed.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation including FBI fingerprinting and local law enforcement checks.
- Proof of citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
